VIRGINIA BEACH Police are investigating the theft of dozens of air-conditioning units throughout the city in the past four months. Since May 1, 65 units have been reported missing from businesses and private residences, said Detective Tonya Borman, the Police Department's Crime Solvers coordinator, in an e-mail. The units are valued at more than $200,000, she said.

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police are investigating the weekend shooting death of a woman in her own home. Police say the victim was found at her home on Royal Haven Crest Saturday night. Officers are still working to determine exactly what happened, and they are waiting to hear more from the medical examiner.
